Cham is a tantric ritual dance performed by the monks of certain-monasteries on special occasions, a tradition which spread through Tibet at the beginning of the 11 century.
The Losel Doll Museum features an exhibit of intricately detailed, beautiful dolls illustrating the traditional clothing and daily life of the people in each of the regions of Tibet, plus displays of religious events and festivals.
The “Norbulingka Institute” is situated at Sidhpur, 10km from Dharamsala town. “Norbulinka” literally “The Jeweled Park” is named after the summer residence of Dalai Lama at Lhasa. It has a beautiful Buddha temple, a Japanese inspired garden, a dolls house and a craft centre. Built in the traditional Tibetan style, it’s set in a beautiful garden, flowing streams, small waterfalls, bridges, and koi ponds, while the spectacular Dhualadhar mountains of the outer Himalayas rise impressively in the background. The “Norbulingka Institute” has a mission to preserve and promote Tibetan Culture.
